Wow, that’s an amazing amount of km on Zwift. Congratulations. A major crash in irl, what brought me to Zwift. Helped me to regain strength. Without Zwift it would have taken much much longer to recover.
I ride for pleasure, and collect items and levels on the way. Since over a year now I enjoy the sozial rides , which didn’t interest me at all on the beginning.
Once I get to the next level, I’m happy and work toward the next one. Doesn’t really matter how long it takes, cause I would sit on bike anyway.
Without Zwift, for myself it would be harder to stay in shape, as I hardly find time to ride outside. ( perhaps better to say, hardly find that much time to ride outside) once again congratulations to that many km in one year. Cycled around the world in irl, took me 2 years to do so. Cheers
I’ve often wondered who they are listening to. After 8 years and physically only able to ride around 200 miles a week. All those miles on Zwift I thought this was my chance to level up based on the almost 1 million XP points Ive accumulated. Appears they once again are not listening to the customers that pay year round.
Zwifters: Fix the elevation profile!!!
Zwift: We fixed the levels… again…
Elevation… Levels… They’re almost the same…
This is ridiculous. How can a guy be at level 61 with that amount of kilometers even if he did all of them at double XP. It really takes away from the effort that more experienced riders had put in order to get to the higher levels! I used to look at people’s level when racing and the higher the level the more experienced they were, so I had to be more careful with them. Now it doesn’t matter what level they are as fairly new Zwifters can be very high levels with the current system.
We should all be put at the level we belong according to the amount of XP we have even if some will have to be moved back and some moved forward.
Edited: meant to write 61
I use Fulgaz to do massive climbs and that has no XP given.
Its more enjoyable than spending ages in a flat course going around in circles.
Which illustrates my perception of the unfairness here. I’m at 2.3m XP, 113,266 km, 121 days, and 605,6 meters elevation… and I’m at level 92. And I’m seeing people with less than half that distance at Level 100.
I’m not sure how you managed to miss getting to 100 quickly, I only guess you missed some of the double XP riding where you didn’t get the bigXP bonuses?
I did do a lot of laps of Alpe du Zwift however (never in workout mode) and frequently got the wheels at the spinner which gave me 2000XP. Combined with the regular double XP (banked) that helps to level up fast.
can’t work out if no news from zwift is good news here or not?
@Gerrie_Delport_ODZ I’m so glad to hear I’m not the only one with OCD. I must get rid of that notification lol
Double XP Events, Climb portal, workouts, Alpe du Zwift, …
During the Christmas period and after when there were those double XP events there were a lot of people doing those events multiple times (like as many times as possible) to get maximum XP benefit out of them. And when the next event didn’t have double XP, they quit.
There was a crazy race to get to level 100 first, same as there is an unofficial distance competition as well.
Climb portal was only lucrative at the start, then all the exploits to get 10x 250XP in a lap were stopped. I never saw that, the idea of climb portal was pretty boring to me at first.
I only did Willunga hill when that was on as the featured climb. Most I got was 4x big XP in a lap.
ADZ is only good if you get the wheels and that’s fairly rare now for anyone. Around the same time climb portal became more stingy for bigXP bonuses ADZ became equally stingy at giving wheels out, even if you already had them.
Put me down as one person who doesn’t want to go straight to level 100 (even though I have the banked xp). I’ve spent years stuck at level 50 and level 60. I like being able to work through the levels at a reasonable pace (even though they are all janked up now and mean nothing). It gives me a nice little warm sense of pride and accomplishment to see that progress bar ticking over.
Under the current system I would have hit level 100 later this year and would’ve been stuck there for who knows how many more years. Now with this proposed new system I will probably get to level 100 sometime next year. I’m in no hurry to hit max level again.
I absolutely agree it should be a choice for each person to opt in or out.
Even if I’m fast-forwarded to where my XP puts me today, I’d still only be going from 54 to 84 or so; I’ll still have levelling to do.
Chances of me ever hitting max level at any point are vanishingly small, let doing it more than once.
So our banked XP is Rider Score - Current Level Requirement ?
I’m level 56, XP Requirement =197,500, Rider Score = 473,019, therefore banked XP = 275,519.
Before the current system I was Level 46 on 420,000 XP, which became 139,000 level requirement + 281,000 banked (Rider score = 420,000)
So banked XP has only reduced by 281,000 - 275,519 = 5,481 in 10 levels.
At this rate I’ll never get rid of the banked XP.
Just put us on the level of our rider score, in my case level 89 under the current system.
That’s assuming Zwift don’t change it another 2 more times before then
But as per the second post on this thread…“they are running this past us”
Would be good if they could post something
I usually cancel during summer but this year I was going to keep one bike on the trainer and my subscription active. I am at level 70 and figured if I rode my indoors on rainy or windy days this summer I just might hit level 100. Now that you’re moving the goalpost (again) in the middle of the game, I’ll stick with my original plan to take a Zwift break over summer. Maybe get some Rouvy miles in if I really need an indoor ride. Zwift “game-ifide” training and I have to admit you hooked me. But since you can’t seem to make up your mind the thrill is gone. A master-class in screwing up a business model.
I’m the opposite. I always keep my subscription active over the summer and do rides or training when the weather is bad. This year for the first time I am going to cancel.
iV is free and the racing is good and can do my own workouts on there too.
Really have had enough of Zwifts BS these past couple of months. Between firing Flint and maybe killing ZRS in the process, drowning out the community race organisers with their own never ending races and then messing with the levels (again). Not to mention every game release breaks something, steering was the latest, but lets not forget all the houses in the roads on Yorkshire etc.
This is crazy!! You should get L100 instantly.
Dave.
What’s even crazier is that there are long time riders that have even more XP, mileage, and time on Zwift than me that are at a lower level. They’re not speaking out here, but you can find them if you go to Zwift Power and click on the Riders tab.
