I wonder how many people will be interested in this due to launch late October?
I would be interested in a frame, no trainer, that had infinite adjustments in bars, saddle, and the multilength crank. Depending on price of course. I can always just get a used steel frame.
Honestly it does not look very appealing to me, relative to the Zwift Ride, for the price they are asking. I can see how people in areas where Zwift doesn’t sell the Ride frame alone might be interested. It appears to have the same level of vendor lock-in as the Ride. If it has a standard bottom bracket and crank arm interface that would be a plus, but I don’t know if it does. Like the Ride, it doesn’t use a standard seat post type. Chain maintenance on the Ride is simpler. The controls on the Ride are better. If Zwift revises the shape of the Click shifter that could also be a problem.
I would be very careful with anything Jet Black. My experience has been one of good electronics with very poor manufacturing. Their quality control is absent so tread carefully. Customer support was slow yet good enough and I was refunded for all of my Jet Black purchases however there are consistent manufacturing issues with bearings and tolerances, etc.
Their electronics are pretty darn good. It’s a shame they can’t get their manufacturing act together.
Let this be out there for a generation and let someone else figure out the manufacturing issues before purchasing. Early adopters just get very adept on how to repackage and return things.
Definitely went with the whole utilitarian design theme there, pretty ugly with those panhead bolts all over the front of it.
At least you can hide the allen key on the Ride frame, here you get to see it dangle around.
Bonus to JB Frame though; at least it comes with adjustable crank length arms that don’t have to be purchased separately… that’s what the ZRide should’ve come with since the beginning though IMO.
But still; costing $100 less in the US at least, and you’re losing the zwift controllers and stuck with the blips; which means awkward control at best, no brakes, and dealing with CR2032 batteries every so often.
The cost cutting or, enshittification if you will, is… too obvious here.
I just don’t see why anyone would jump for that if they are aware of the Zwift Ride.
What do you even do with this thing on other platforms??? It seems pretty much required/tied to the platform anyways being a single speed “bike”.

According to ZI or JETBLACK it is a standard Shimano BB. Max crank is 172.5 so big crank users will need to change. Looks to be standard seat rails and cockpit so easier to work/modify to one’s preference. So it is an option but at $600+ will pass.
