How to ignore annoying people on the forum

If you encounter someone on the forum who is annoying, there is a feature that lets you hide their posts and comments. If someone says something that’s really offensive you can report the post or comment to the moderators, but sometimes the post or comment is not really offensive or against the forum rules, you just don’t want to see anything further from that member.

Navigate to one of the posts or comments and click on the member’s name or image at the left-hand corner of the post or comment. A little window will pop up with a tiny summary of their profile. Click again on either their name or image. This will take you to their forum profile page.

In the upper right hand corner of the profile page, you will see a menu that says “Normal”. Click on that and choose “Ignore” from the drop-down list.

A menu will come up that lets you choose how long you want to ignore them for. You decide whether to give them a little time-out or just ignore them forever.

After you ignore someone, their comments will show up as “Hidden reply”. You can click on that if you feel like seeing it, or just move on.

New posts (not comments) from ignored users will show up as “ignored content” and you don’t have the option to view it, although if you open the link in a private browsing window that will allow you to view it.

Thanks @Paul_Southworth

You can always notify the moderators privately.

We are always looking for ways to make the forum a welcome place for all of the users.

A forum is defined as a public meeting place for open discussion where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged. What part of this do you find “annoying”? Please give some examples of recent post which have “annoyed you”
