Hello!

Just wanted to say hello. What does everyone think of the forums, better or worse than Zwift Riders?

Do I get a vote???

Getting used to them, they seem to have a lot more features than the last one did.

Oh yeah, definitely. This is an ACTUAL forum versus our previous one which was an add-on. We’ll continue to optimize and design this space to make it as good as it can be, so we do appreciate everyone’s patience as we get used to our new digs

Let me first get used to it. It looks like a real forum. You should fix the ā€œsupportā€ button on the front page to say Forum.

Actually, if you click that link it DOES NOT bring you to the forums, it takes you here: https://support.zwift.com/ which could be helpful to new riders.

I get a 404 ERROR

They must be working on it since it did point to the link I posted before (https://support.zwift.com/)

you may need to hard refresh or clear your cache, it takes me over to the support page as well.

Yeah we’re working on that 404 error, should be fixed soon!

I must say, if you want these forums to be a sucess, and busy, which I hope you do. You absolutely must provide a direct link to them at the top of the zwift.com home page. Something like ā€œCOMMUNITY FORUMā€ at the top gives people an obvious place to go to.

I know you’ve got it on the drop down menu but it’s still a little obscure if you aren’t looking for it.

Agreed!

I like this idea. I’m not sure how much community discussion will move from Facebook to a forum, but it’s good to have a more organized space to find information about Zwift and talk to others about it.

Interesting that you say that Mark as we were talking about that a little earlier. There’s only so much real estate on the Home page that we don’t want to clutter things up, but it’s not a bad idea at all. I’ll bring it up.

I’m not a huge fan of Discourse, but it’s OK. I’m quite a forum Luddite, so Xenforo is my current go-to.

Better than Facebook of course.

Why aren’t you a huge fan if you don’t mind me asking?

Hi Vincent,

I think the key part of my sentence is ā€œhugeā€. I’m not saying I dislike Discourse, just that it’s not my favourite. Indeed, when I set up my failed Zwift forum back in 2015 (IIRC) I used Discourse.

It’s really a matter of preference. I’m not a big fan of ā€œinfinite scrollā€ because I like the closure afforded by discrete pages. I can read ā€œeverythingā€ on a page, but infinite scroll just makes more stuff appear as I get down the page.

It’s also far easier to lose my place. If I’ve scrolled down the list, read a post then click ā€œbackā€ sometimes I’m dumped back at the top of the list. That’s really annoying if I’ve scrolled hundreds of posts down.

I think that’s my main dislike as far as it goes.

(Although in terms if this particular forum, I think contrast could be better. There’s a lot of light grey that I can’t really read or see as easily as I should be able to).

Good stuff, I think there might be a setting regarding infinite scroll and it snapping back to the post you last read, but I’ll have to double check. I’ve forwarded over the light grey text feedback to our creative team as well

Thanks Vincent. Eric C told me off for creating a new thread about contrast but your response wasn’t here when I did that.

I would liken that to a suggestion rather than a ā€œtelling you offā€

Hehe, well I just didn’t want it to get lost as a mere aside. You guys work odd hours.

The new post had better information in it though!
