Hi there. I’m new to Zwifting. I’m riding a Concept 2 Bike Erg and I’m wondering how that compares to an outdoor bike on a trainer. Is the power output and weight all that matters or is there a difference with the physical bikes as well? Getting good workouts in and having lots of fun but I can’t keep up with anyone.
According to this thread, the BikeErg may read 15-20 watts low, but that’s not a huge difference…
The big difference would be gradient changes. A smart trainer or compatible smart bike will change the resistance automatically as the virtual world goes up and down hills. From what I can tell, the concept 2 bike doesn’t do that. I also don’t see any actual power meter on the bike erg, so power accuracy is questionable.
