Hi @xflintx and @James_Zwift, are we able to share the next steps / development road map for category enforcement, Zwiftpower integration and racing as a whole?
What might we be seeing rolled out over the next few months and into the new Zwift season?
it will probably just be left up to individual organisers to choose, which i think is fine. @S_ticky_KRT runs cat enforcement in the 6:00am gmt sunday KISS 100 but not the 2:15pm one. i think a lot of of event organisers might be more easily persuaded to use it if they, or zwift, could explain the underlying mechanic clearly to participants.
my gut feeling is that most people who actually really understand and use CP as a training metric are either coached or have every trainerroad podcast memorised and spend 10 hours a week thinking about pedantic crap like the optimal fructuse/glucose ratio to have in their bidon or whatever so maybe event organisers are a little hesitant to fully commit to it. i myself am not really a data driven cyclist even though i am reasonably serious about my programming
Still here guys. More news as soon as I have it.
Looks the same for me. I was looking forward to making my debut as a C too
ID for race please?

Ok - Category Enforcement is definitely turned on.
It doesnāt appear to let you choose a lwoer category though (whilst not ideal, also not the worst case scenario)
Just did the lunch time chase race & there is something up as there is a rider who has been WKG DQ post race?
Though, he very much fits in the bracket of lightweight and breaks the algorithm - Shows as a A+ in Zwiftpower, raced 3rd in B (Finished with B numbers 3.7wkg) but has been filtered out of the results.
Oh, & when will you make WTRL enable Cat enforcement for the ZRL?
Im still not sure I understand Zwifts primary community race being left open to all the Sandbaggers they are trying to stop impacting other races series. Doesnāt seem like the logical approach but what do I know.
This is just a rules set up issue. Iāll try and fix that event and also for future ones after Iāve done my ride with @Patrick_AsC-Primarch
Assume this is down to organisers decision like with every other event?
Although Iām 100% behind you with the sentiment, probably still a bit new for ZRL, would be very difficult to create and manage teams without the category being surfaced somewhere for captains and managers to view. Plus probably needs womenās categories sorted as well or it adds complexity.
Hopefully all these things are sorted for the autumn!
Iām glad Iām not the only one that canāt get their event rules to stick post race!
Im presuming for the ZRL this is left ambiguous as possible so no one has to take responsibility for it. Zwift set the courses, it has Zwifts name on it but WTRL do the admin.
Edit - Agreed it adds complexity but that can be overcome and will get rid of the ridiculous 3 races and then you get upgraded but keep racing scenario.
The two chase races should be fixed (or will shortly update) and the ones from next week onwards should be okay.
Thanks for being with us at Midweek ride @James_Zwift
Thatās (sort of) where Iām heading now.
There are other race series out there with split categories (e.g. Mad Mondays, SZR) which allow me, as a mediocre. lightweight C, to be more competitive rather than just canon fodder. Iāve still got very little chance of finishing top 10, but at least Iām enjoying the experience rather than ending up demoralised and demotivated.
Three races between 6pm and 10pm tonight (UK time). Still early days I guess but itād be nice to see it becoming more the default option rather than the other way around, where it feels like a trial or novelty.
Are organisers ignoring or unaware of it, or do they actively not want to change most of their events?
I think weāre at around 150+ at the moment.
Maybe Thursday is a bad day because of TTT?
Not sure what youāre referring to, but I assume a WTRL event. Iāve no desire to go over old ground but IMO itās a shame if certain events massively overshadow the rest to their detriment.
i think zwift havenāt yet finalised what the category boundaries actually are, and then once theyāve done that theyāll need to find a clear and concise way of explaining it to the average user because as much as WTRL like to complain about people complaining, people will definitely complain if the rules arenāt lawyerproof
