Dear All –
I wanted to take a moment to let you know what we at Zwift are doing in the face of the current COVID-19 pandemic.
In a time of great uncertainty, I hope that Zwift can be a source of positivity and fun. Our responsibility to build community through fitness has never been more important.
Zwift is uniquely placed to be able to connect individuals globally. We established Zwift with the intention of creating a brand new athletic community. Over the past six years, this community has flourished and you have all helped shape Zwift into what it is today. At a time when many people will start to feel isolated, we hope to be able to continue to connect people across the globe.
As a company, we are adapting to the ever-changing global situation and have taken measures to protect the health of our people and those around us. Business travel was paused some weeks ago and all employees around the world are encouraged to work from home. We are working hard to minimise any risk of disruption to the platform. However, as part of our duty to social distance, for the wellbeing of everyone, we have placed an indefinite pause on all real-life Zwift events.
We’re committed to delivering a packed schedule of Zwift in-game experiences over the next weeks and months, including our second Tour of Watopia and the Machines for Freedom x Zwift Women’s Month Series, both taking place right now. Catering to all abilities, whether beginner or seasoned pro, The Tour of Watopia is a fantastic opportunity to ride or run with thousands of other like-minded people. Special guests like Geraint Thomas, Annemiek van Vleuten and Andre Greipel are making appearances throughout the Tour. So, keep an eye out for more ‘Special Guest’ rides in your Zwift Companion App. Alongside the many group rides and races, the Tour of Watopia also provides the opportunity to watch new live-streamed Pro-Am Esports competition, with more competition planned through the Spring and Summer months ahead.
For the runners, not only is there the Tour of Watopia, but we are also in the middle of our Women’s Run Month. Run leaders include Gwen Jorgensen, Lucy Charles, Holly Lawrence and Andrea Diethers.
There will be more experiences coming your way. The Mitchelton-Scott Bike Exchange ride series is the first example. This fun series of events allows you to interact with your heroes in social rides or even test your legs against them in fun challenge events. For Triathletes, look out for #Frodissimofriday community events curated by x3 IRONMAN World Champion Jan Frodeno. There will be more of these experiences added to the events calendar in the coming weeks.
As travel restrictions come into force around the world, online shopping becomes increasingly important. We are working hard with our supplier partners to ensure the Zwift Shop is able to continue serving customers throughout this period.
As a company, we look forward to serving even more great Zwift experiences and packing more into your Zwift membership than ever before.
As a community member, I look forward to connecting with you all in Zwift. Together, let’s stay strong, stay fit and most importantly healthy, and sure, let’s have some fun too!
