And even if zwift is all in on ZRS and will never go back to CE, they should do this anyway.
We all know that speed is not equal to w/kg, so improving the Pace Group designation so that it’s more representative of your pace will be an improvement for everyone.
Did they broke ZRS?
Look at top 10 riders in 180-350 pen? Rider 1 pushing A power with less than 300 points
Rider 4 pushing B power with less than 100 points?
Looking at the winner, they’ve not been on zwift since July and haven’t done a hard effort since the spring.
It shows how they need to pick up older efforts of riders who return to zwift, so they don’t ruin races like this.
Theres also other glaring issues, hopefully solved by the seed score doover (and lets hope this is better than the terrible first effort).
My thought.
Riders who have been off for the summer or for extended periods of time should come back at their last recorded (highest) ZRS level. They should not be reset lower after 90 days. If a rider has legitimately been off and is riding at a lower level, let them ride a few races and move back through the rankings rather than starting lower and moving up. This would eliminate A/B level riders blowing up lower cat races and ruining it for racers who are legit at this level.
… and it shows how lame these people are.
I feel like I make this point far too often. What is wrong with these people?
Not at the moment it would’nt , some of these riders can legitimately ride in lower Cats, seen loads of B Cat in 180-350 with under 350 points after they put out nearly 3.6 w/kg for the whole race.
Just meant to address the returning rider issue going forward. Understood current situation wouldn’t be affected.
What was the deal with tiny races and ZRS not calculating sensibly between them? Has that been addressed by something or ?
ZRS doesn’t calculate properly if you, or anyone else in the race, does more than one race in a 12 hour window.
It uses the same initial value for each one, so the score change from each race will be correct, at least within a very small margin, but the cumulative total will be wrong.
The scores get reprocessed after 12 hours and will be correct after that.
The change they made to make scores get calculated more quickly was to assume a rider who hasn’t finished a race will not finish, so the score changes will be calculated based on the correct number of finishers, and it updates whenever someone else crosses the line. It did not fix the tiny race issue.
Perfect thanks!
Actually fact is: Zracing becomes boring!
Checked 35week back and now 1st stage of dec event, in EVERY single race to common times, we have 4+/3,6+/3,2+ group finishes, which is nothing else than old CE ABC in ONE race (here pen 350-520).
With an actual leading time of 32:18 the usual pen riders 3,3+ are 3! min. behind!
Just after one stage.
If you did zracing the last years, it became thrilling, because 100th of people in a CE fought for podium.
Looking into the data of the last three years, Top100 of people are on the same zmap level in their CE.
Brilliant liveshows by nathan&dave, because racing was attractive to moderate.
What should they present now? A lonely rider and minutes of waiting until others coming???
Why zwift-live changed last season mentioned live a top30 result list, instead of 10? BECAUSE race results were so close within seconds.
And now??? 1-2min. gaps to old 3,3+ riders (the old CE C, which i resume is the new 350-520, as i found lots of my old opponents in it).
If you ever did IRL racing national/international, you would know/study each of your opponents and their data. There was never such a big difference and even the best in the field wouldn‘t go alone, afraid to be caught lately.
And thats not be different with the PROs. Or why too often, escapers got caught short before the finishline?
What actually happen because ZRS is a circus show.
Thanks for giving me the weekly chance to hang 20min with 4+ riders before i die for nothing.
If i WANT THIS, i would do WORKOUTS, but not racing, which should lift my iron will by a good comparable group ranking.
Just change/spread/expand the CE categories.
Thats all it needs.
Will this fix the RS 11 (plus podium points) issue?
Thanks
There is nothing wrong with people racing in their assigned category. Blame the game, not the players. Please consider:
- How could someone coming back from summer break know how ZRS works, know that it is not categorizing people correctly, and they should step up a cat or two?
- There are so many overpowered riders in low cats that no one feels off place. Actually, categories are intentionally not determined by power, hence no one is off place, despite you wanting so.
Both. I can blame both. Both is good.
If you know that for the last 4 years you were competitive in one of the top two categories (of four) what are the chances that the new system legitimately places you in the fourth or fifth category (of five)?
All you need to do is a due diligence check. If you’re coming back to Zwift and you’re going to ride in a ZR race at 18:10 tomorrow, take a look at the results of today’s ZR 18:10 race and have a look at how the race went down in each category. Pick an appropriate cat and have at it.
Obviously for new/inexperienced Zwifters the above does not apply.
Incorrect. Overwhelming majority of all ZRS is based on power. Some people get promoted. A small few go down a category if they lose a bunch, but many are locked by their power numbers into a category where they get dropped in the first minutes of races.
