Zwift Racing Score - Seed V3 Release [December 2024]

The issue that occurs to me though is that if score changes are based on coming in top vs bottom half of an event, everyone will always be getting increases and decreases that irrelevant and inappropriate for the next event that they enter that has different pen cutoffs. Without ELO, how is this problem solved?

That’s part of why I suggested keeping 100% seed score and results as separate metrics, so your pen is decided by 100% seed score going back 90 or more days.

Right now, 200-400 pen for the Inox Flash Mile in a few minutes has a stupid range of ability, just from the zwiftpower registered entries, although I do wonder if it is configured correctly as at 208 I could enter pen E…

Arent they going to be dropped way to soon and have a hard time getting that 75% when riding most of the race solo ?

I really hope you don’t mean this !

Time on Zwift in order to be able buy the Felt or Canyon and some Swiss discs is fairly modest, so it doesn’t take long to get on an even playing field. And will be good training anyway.

False equivalence much?

Maybe in A+. Nobody in B-D was drafting up Keith hill lol.

I would never hold back in a race. Racing is about doing your very best to win. As it happened i just didn’t have it in me to get over the old cat limits as i limped over the line. Maybe if I hadn’t hit the sprint I’d be a ā€œBā€ racer today.

I long for the day where everyone in a racing pen is issued the same frame and wheels, for more equal competition.

For series like Tiny Races, you could even issue stronger frames and wheels for each pen going A-E, so the top pens get a longer race from weaker equipment.
With open choice, it’s very rare for pen E racers to finish under 10mins, I’d put money on pen A over 10mins being extremely rare.

FRR assigns frames and leaves wheel choice up to the individual, which is part way there. Realistically the equipment at the better end is all super marginal, within a watt maybe two each way from the mean.

Ohh come on. With all the bonus xp we get these days. How long does it take to get to level 41 and be able to buy everything you need. Cant be more than a few months.

But why would you ride 4.0 when you can also win the race with 3.2 ?

I suppose before any given race, all the participants could get on chat, agree to ride the entire thing except the last 1km in zone1-2, and then go all out.

Would be a reason for me to not even join.
Picking the right bike that gives you the best chance and helps you on your weaknesses or extra expand your pro points is a part of the game and lots of the time underestamated by a lot.

I’m level 57 or something, but newcomers should not have to wait months to get performance equipment equality in races.

Thats what I meant. How does the anti tank meassurements cope with that ?

It probably doesn’t. Are there any example old events that anyone can link to, where this happened?

We all did and that was fine. If it did anything it gave me extra motivation to move up faster to get a better bike.

Canyon Aeroad - level 10
Scott Addict RC - level 16
Felt AR - level 23

Than you are good to go. That aint so hard.

This needs its own post, anti-tanking measure questions…

1655 Inox Flash Mile, had to join E as too late to join D. 7th of 14, 282W for 3mins21secs. +2 points Racing Score

1755 Inox Flash Mile, joined D. 7th of 8, 298W for 3mins15secs.

The at Home Cycling & Running Virtual Training App says my 90 day best 3mins is 311W and 3mins30secs is 295W, but no points change… What the flipperty flip?

Crush the opposition and enjoy the margin of victory. Such opportunities rarely come around for most folk, so you might as well take the opportunity when it presents itself. Plus of course you look like a fool if you ease up when leading and then lose!
