Jensie Voigt got it after reprocessing :grinning:

! Ah, here we go again with the classic “screw the lightweights” approach. It truly baffles me how Zwift manages to consistently miss the mark on these things!

I started at 570, now I am at 354. Just few days ago I climbed Box Hill at 4 W/kg for fun but since the system is not based on machine learning to asses your true abilities and I do not have any solid 10-minute effort, we can do whatever. If someone wants to sandbag it is even easier than it was with CE.

I had the same thought, but after checking out some of the strong guys I raced with, I noticed that a bunch of them also dropped a lot. It seems like the D pen is going to be a challenging place to compete.

Thanks Ryan and ZHQ! Score initially look to be much fairer and what I would expect as a Event organiser and Team racing manager with AHDR looking across my ZRL Teams. Appreciate the ZHQ team taking on the feedback and suggestions that a few people have contributed to in a positive way.

email support@zwift.com and ask them to delete those over reading activities.

guess you need to work on your sprint then. IRL you wouldn’t win much with a weak sprint. You benefited under the previous calculation as you were in a lower category based on your sprint ability whilst you were too strong over the duration of the event for a lot of others.

LOL. I’m 68 and there isn’t gonna be much if any improvement in my sprint going forward even with a very focused training program. I’ve always been a Diesel and in events specific to that kind of power, I’ve done quite well IRL. Like I said, in ZRS V1, racing was fun again. The packs seemed to be tighter with more riders managing to hang. I didn’t ride away from all of the sprinters because I weigh 67kg but I was able to breakaway once in a while but it wasn’t the normal course of events. Like I said, fun. We’ll see how V2 goes shortly. The Tiny Races this weekend will be “interesting”.

Yup, that’s pretty much my take on it. If you don’t have a solid punch in the 2-3 minute power, it’s going to be hard to hang. Just like most of the CE races were.

There are very few 110kg riders wining climbing races. They have to do so much more power than a light rider on hills. Try setting your weight to 110kg and see how the climbs go.

My score dropped almost 60 points. Was bouncing between 515 and 525. Do well, then not well. Back and forth. Now at 460 we will see what happens tomorrow.

Lightweight rider with a mediocre sprint here.
Mine went from 146 to 261
I’ve been promoted from D to C recently and managing to do well (top 15) in ZRL C Division 2 due to doing my homework, tactics and hanging on for dear life.
Looking at how my friends/peers (people who I know can beat me on a variety of course types) are ranked now I think my new number is a little high. But happy to see how it goes.

This was an answer to my question because of VirtuSlo endurance league - my category changed (up) in the evening, now I’m back again.

This is absurd.
My seed score was 622 I am now 764… for 55kg.
Sandrine from my foudre team went to 760.

Lightweights saw their score balloon to improbable scores.
We are going to get destroyed every race forever by all those “sprinter” guys 80kg and more that cannot ride irl (they cannot get over any bump because overweight) but destroy us because zwift races are flat.

I am very angry because I went from alternating between A and B which was difficult but seemed logical (I never sandbag and race every time as if it was world championship) to a situation were I know I will NEVER be able to do anything :

  • 55kg, 50 years, I will never perform on flat courses
  • Being with old A+ CE means on bump I will never do anything on courses fit for my weight
  • i allready perform nicely because I transformed my power from “climber” to “puncher”… so won’t be able to really get better…

Welcome to w/kg without a watts floor.
For someone like you this is even worse than CE. Who would have thought that is possible?

If it makes you feel any better I’ve seen a few more extreme examples

I’ve been looking through riders in my club with whom I’m familiar with their racing ability (eg I could make a good guess as to who would beat who in a race)

Clearly bigger riders have seen a drop or in some cases, no significant change (particularly where they race a lot)

Light riders have typically increased though again, there are plenty that remain pretty much where they were in v1

This has certainly helped fix the issue that heavier riders were unfairly categorised before but on average it does seem to have made stronger, lightweight riders unfairly highly scored - not maybe as bad as it was in ZCE but still going the other way and in some instances making it near impossible for them to ever be competitive.

to make my point before (even though v2 looks like it advantages me personally), this isn’t about people complaining that they’re not going to be competitive but about whether riders at the top of a category band cand be competitive in that band. If not then it’s still not right.

I guess we need to see how it plays out over the next couple of weeks.

I was competitive and feeling good in the 350-520 CAT but my race score jumped to 544 and I raced in the CAT above. Needless to say got my ass handed to me! I find this race score very demotivating?

Hi Aaron, if you check out the following league (zwiftpower: 2507, NCF eCUP 2024 herrer) for “B” and look at the ZRS score development for the competitors you’ll understand my issue. For the V2 you can see “B” again for this race (zwiftpower: 4562484). point is the system makes no logical sense; winners, who win week in week out are going up less than those that are in 10-20 positions (myself). If ZRS ranking is considered I should be the winner every week. Also I see that those in “A” for the same race that went up from “B” are of course got a beating in “A” but their ZRS decreased to a level lowerer than when they were racing in “B”. Point is it jumps around, it makes no logical sense, and there is no transparecny to how it is actually working. regards

That’s where people are going to have to accept that if they’re at the bottom of a category, they will not be as competitive as if they are at the top of it - there will always be winners and losers with any change to the grading method and unfortunately for you, you are one of the people who’ve lost out but that doesn’t make it unfair - it just means you got an upgrade and that always makes future races difficult until you improve.

What matters if whether if you get towards the top of your new category that you are competitive again or if you drop back below 520 that you should be highly competitive there.

But looking at my recent races people who beat me or finished around me have remained at a similar race score? Why has mine jumped up to 544?

What does their 10 minute wkg look like compared to yours?
