@Cory_Miller9620 Great question, actually. This broadcast is more complex than ones that Zwift hosts 100% end-to-end on our own platform.
The Tour shows are hosted by Zwift, but run by ASO. Because ASO hands off to other networks around the world, Zwift must be careful what’s burned into our feed, meaning any graphics overlays Zwift puts down can’t be removed by anyone downstream. This is especially true for English-language graphics that are not wanted by non-English speaking broadcasters. Producers must also be mindful of placing graphics in the lower third of the frame, where they would collide with closed captions and translated subtitles.
Is there a way to switch from the metric system to the Imperial system while watching the Virtual Tour de France Stages? If not that’s something you should add for us in the states.
Hello! Not 100% sure I understand the question. Each weekend since the 4th, the pros have ridden two separate stages—amateurs have had access to one of those two stages during the same weekend (the L’Etape stage), and both of the stages daily during the following week (the Discovery rides).
This weekend, the pros are riding La Reine (Ventoux) and the Champs finishing stage, and we have access to Ven-Top (a similar route up Ventoux). Starting Monday, we should again have access to both stages (Ventoux + Paris/Champs).
If by “Stage 4” you mean the Champs-Élysées route (which the pros ride tomorrow), it becomes available for amateurs beginning Monday (during the Discovery Rides). Or do you mean a different stage?
No official way to access France/Paris anymore. The L’Etape and Virtual Tour Discovery rides are done. Rumor is mid-August those two worlds will be available to use in free ride.
I’m surprised the Discovery rides aren’t continuing: With 3 L’Etape and an additional 4 Discovery routes packed into just three weeks, that was a lot to squeeze in, especially considering all tended to turn into full-gas races. VenTop took a lot out of me, then I dropped out of Champs after 3 of 6 laps, and I never got to La Reine. Although there’s no shortage of events elsewhere on roads I’ve been neglecting.
