Virtual Gear Ranges and Options - Click, Play, Ride

Some of this maybe only Zwift can answer (@shooj ?), but I am considering at least trying out virtual shifting, when firmware becomes available early next year for my Justo.

Some questions though. I came across this article, but it seems to be specific to the Ride only? That is, having a virtual 2x chainset setup, with separate Left and Right derailleur shifting – is this ONLY possible with the Ride frame? Do the Play controllers (which also have L and R shift paddles) work with the various shifting setup options or only sequential 24-gears in a straight line? Note: I would probably only be interested in trying virtual shifting if I can access the Front derailleur jumps up and down to emulate my real bike.

Is there any chance that there’d ever be a simple V2 of the Click as well… one that could offer clickers for “front” and “rear” virtual derailleurs? Or will this only be available with the Ride frame?

As reference to what I’m talking about, see this Zwift article:

Finally, is there any documentation of how these shifting setups map to the virtual shifts. Eg. below is a theoretical 39/53 chainring with 10-28 cassette. Is this replicated pretty exactly with virtual shifting? Would the default starting ‘gear 8’ be the 39/14 gear, or something else?

Zwift Play only has two shift buttons, up and down - Using Your Zwift Play

Zwift Ride has four shift buttons to allow more options, including separate front/rear shifting.

ahh… I was thinking the left and right shifters were like seesaws, pushing at the top vs bottom portion would shift up/down. Maybe a v2 of Play controllers could be offered some day; though I’d prefer the simpler Clicks be updated, or make possible to just buy 2 of them and program them to be left vs right.
