We thought you might enjoy Team Human Powered Health’s story describing the 2022 Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift. The story also touches on past versions of the Tour raced by women, and how this year’s version might unfold through different stages.
The Human Powered Health squad has been known as Rally Cycling, Kelly Benefit-Strategies-Medifast, KBS-Optum, and Optum-KBS across its 15 year history in the men’s peloton. It’s one of three American-registered professional teams competing in this year’s TdFFaZ. While no team has announced their lineups for the Tour just yet - one rider to watch is first year pro Kaia Schmid.
The 19 year old won the Elimination Race on the velodrome at the 2021 Junior Track World Championship, a silver medal in the Omnimum, and a bronze in the Points Race. Schmid also took a silver medal in last year’s Junior Road World Championship. The young American has been racing the 2022 season in Europe against the sport’s best, and is a promising standout to watch for years to come.
