Have you ever ridden a bike outside with other people?
There should be a supertuck-lite that doesn’t get the pack churning but still is better than soft pedaling.

From memory, one of the Zwift people a while back made it clear that you shouldn’t be able to just coast, not supposed to be realistic, it’s designed to make you keep turning the pedals an get no rest.
It was written on the forums here, I’m just trying to find the topic.
And yes, extremely experienced in bunch riding outside, biggest group probably over 200.
Have you guys tested the pack speed if you add the following IF statement to the conditions for auto braking?
… IF the rider in front of you is not benefiting from any draft effect.
I think this would reduce the choppiness in the pack while controlling the speed at the front of the pack. At the very least, I think there should be a difference between how much a rider in the middle of the pack is slowed down versus a rider putting their nose in the wind at the front of the pack.
I did. And it creates a very weird visual experience.

And there is. Not exactly controlled by the position in the pack, but by the amount of draft.
I can vouch for rooftop KOM, got dropped like a stone there in a PD3 race a while back
I have a pretty mediocre FTP and can recover at sufficiently at 80w-100w on a descent
0w recovery should be possible at supertuck speeds. I know it’s a video game but take that away and races are just going to turn into ITTs. In a hard race people won’t just do 80w they’re going to keep pushing even on steep fast descents.
@DavidP previously said double draft in the group is better than supertuck, which means a fast group should be limited to supertuck speeds unless someone is really pushing at the front (which won’t happen with coco), which means you should be able to stay in the group at 0w at supertuck speeds.
Supertuck doesn’t behave the same way in races as it does in group rides ie RoboPacer.
In PD3 you can get dropped trying to super-tuck in a group ride as it has braking applied.
PD4 is a great new excuse to why you get dropped, lose a race, etc… we should all be thanking @DavidP for a brand new excuse.
Thanks!!
Please see this comment regarding that being fixed two months ago. You were involved in the discussion.
This are both PDv4 Races? All Cobble Crusher are PDv4 in think @James_Zwift can confirm this.
This races are all time GC…so it should be like iTT cause everyone wants to get to the finish as fast as possible.
There is not tactical play because you have 12 Time zones to beat.
indeed the rogue code was fixed, but the super-tuck still behaves very differently between freeride and race. Just try it. Still descend faster alone in a race than alone on freeride in watopia with PD3
you would need to compare same time slots as well. The first is prime time emea they are always a bit more spicy with riders willing to push the pace for the best GC times and filed size is quite different.
My understanding was that the first few of them were PD3 and the switch was to PD4. There’s similar behavior across a few different races. Maybe @DavidP can confirm if the first races were PD3 or 4.
You’re assuming most people care about the monthly GC.
Yep, a-firm
Well that doesn’t make any sense. Maybe the better fix rather than eliminate supertuck while receiving any draft is just to make supertuck behave like in non-race situations. I thought the intent was to have one set of physics that cover all situations.
Was it the same guy who came up with the burrito powerup?
The best part of developing PD4 has been the music from your races
