Whichever direction you’re riding on the island the gradient readout (upper right of screen while riding) should show you moving left to right.
When you ride counter-clockwise on the island it shows you moving right to left.
I also noticed this yesterday, it took me some time to figure out that I was riding the route in reverse.
I agree regardless of route direction, the readout out should be left to right.
