Why don’t you think about setting up your own private races, you control who enters so only the folks who are known and genuine get in?
With all effort you’ve taken on here saying how dubious everything is, put that time into getting your own club racing going with invite only racing. Maybe you can make it popular.
These and other alternatives have been suggested before. I think issue is that OP wants Zwift HQ to clean up it’s public calendar advance races. Its not an unreasonable desire, but given that racing and especially advanced racing Is pretty niche on Zwift, it is unlikely that Zwift is going to pour any more resources into it. Zwift are also unlikely to do anything that feels punitive to their customers . Both of these things have also been stated before. But the discussion goes on.
But do moderators raise the actual transgressions being discussed, with Zwift, and can they come back with any kind of official viewpoint or passed-along rationale as to why this exists? What happened eg to the Cone of Shame?
I have seen riders performing impossible feats like almost 10w/kg for 5 mins and the cone doesn’t appear.
I have reported riders blatantly cheating in the most obvious manner, using the official form, including their Zwift Power files, screenshots etc and these same riders continue to appear in races doing the same things.
Just seen that my race today will be highly influenced by a rider whose preferred tactic is to ride on the front, and do 3s ‘on’ at 700w, then 3s not pedalling, and lets his PM do the rest. You literally see his numbers going orange for a few seconds over and over.
Then his Zwift power files are a series of bursts, then 3s perfectly flat, over and over…
I mean, if someone was just sitting in the pack doing this it wouldn’t matter, but they’re doing it deliberately to rip the bunch to shreds.
The only way is for people to join private racing events where the organisers can exclude known dodgy riders.
The more people who do this, things will be gradually get cleaner. The public races will gradually be ignored. That’s if people really care about it. But do they really care?
When you look at the exploits used for bike upgrades when that feature launched, I think not. Lots of racers from all the big clubs/teams seemed to be on Ventop doing 3-4 hour “rides” at 70km/h average speeds. Or the exploits for distance without riding… It’s a game…
