Game Update 1.65 [May 2024]

Thanks for reporting! Looks like this helmet’s label has been missing since it was originally released - we’ll get that corrected.

Companion and the main game show different wattage targets. Which is correct? And please fix this. Also the color of the timer bar in the game is wrong.

Have a read of this

I “think” but am not 100% sure that the ingame display is the actual target and is rounded to the nearest 5 watts.

People in that thread are better placed than me to say either way though

Not sure if this applies directly to your situation but the first iteration of My List seemed to be a planner for your next ride and items dropped off after the ride.
Turned out not to be a Favorites List.
Hopefully it will evolve to be more useful.

I’m aware of that thread but

  1. these two issues are related but not exactly the issue

and

  1. @shooj erroneously marked that thread as “solved” which probably puts it at even lower priority than normal

and

  1. these bugs exist in version 1.65 so it’s relevant to this thread

Thanks for raising this - we’re following up with the team on the discrepancy.

Has anyone had issues with resistance changes when connecting via their Apple TV. My zwift won’t change resistance if connected via Apple TV (direct Bluetooth or via companion app on phone). It’s like it is stuck in erg mode. When I connect directly to my phone to zwift it behaves normally. This has only happened since the update. Any suggestions?

I recommend starting a new thread to troubleshoot this, and include details about your trainer. I don’t recall others posting about a similar problem after the update (and for what it’s worth my setup is fine after the update on ATV). It’s likely a coincidence that this started happening for you after the update.

Ensure your phone is not auto connecting… Google and Apple like to think they are smarter than us and auto-connect anything that has been connected once. May have to delete from BT devices.

Can I have some sort of compensation even if it’s just a few months of service for being your entire QA department?

Our QA team and many others work super hard to catch issues that never see the light of day thanks to their diligence. But we still have a ton of important work to do to catch more issues like the ones reported here and elsewhere – this is a major focus for us this year and we’re using every escaped issue as an opportunity to drive investments in things like automated testing and process improvements.

I am also super appreciative of folks like you and many others who raise issues here – thank you.

Genuine question… How far ahead in terms of game numbers is the development and qa team?

Welcome to the forums @Matt_Wylie ! Feel free to reach out to us in Support for some 1:1 assistance. Since this is only occurring on Apple TV and we haven’t seen additional reports yet, the issue may be caused by some pairing issues in your setup.

To follow up on @chris_benten1 's good advice, I recommend double checking that no other apps or devices are pairing to your trainer when you’re trying to Zwift on Apple TV. Additionally, maybe double check that no other device is paired to your Apple TV over bluetooth (e.g. bluetooth headphones)- that shouldn’t matter when you’re paired over Zwift Companion, but it could be a variable affecting things that we can’t see on our side.

Thanks. but the Zwift community would be super appreciative if there was focus fixing issues when they are raised NOT waiting months and months with the same old issues that keep on going

That’s good to hear and I hope to see the improvements. But these workout issues show absolute failure on the side of QA. The workout arch color issue was listed as fixed in an update but was never actually fixed which means nobody actually did any QC or QA checks on the fix.

I don’t know what’s worse. The QA team being bad and letting these obvious bugs through, or the QA team being good and what we’re seeing is only the small proportion that slip through

Guess you don’t work much in software development.

The only video game I play anymore, DCS World, just got a fix for a bug that’s been around and a pain for me, for 8 years… and they still have so so many more that are more than a decade old…

Personally, if anything (and believe me when I say this is the same issue with the developers of DCS), a bugtracker of some sort, or at least knowing what is being prioritized would be nice; and if some sort of say could be put into which might be more important, would be mega appreciated; but… it comes really at the cost of “more work” for someone to keep such a thing updated.

Multiple yellow and red beacons, are a major issue right now.
Riders still going down the wrong routes when joining group rides, are still a major issue right now.

If anything it would be nice to know that items like those are at the top of the list… granted; game-crashing bugs, are and have to remain at the tippy top.

But it’s worth noting that some of these bugs we encounter are basically next to impossible to force, and a team of tens to maybe one hundred globally… will never outweigh tens of thousands of us.

2 wrongs don’t make a right

Since the last update I’m losing connection with all my devices. It happened in every session I’ve done, not immediately but after 15 to 30 minutes. When I’m in ERG mode, I can reconnect sometimes. But when I need my Zwift Click, there is nothing I can do. I have to shut everything down and restart a new session.

I’m back on Zwift after a month tonight. Version 1.65 does not allow me, in the settings, to adjust the size of the font of the display, for example for the routes available in Watopia or whatever. Was it a problem ? It now appears very small.
You can always count on Zwift to piss off their customers.
