It would be great to have access to my custom workouts within the Companion app.

Welcome to forums! This is Alejandra from Zwift. Thanks so much for sharing your idea about having custom workouts available in the Companion app.
At the moment, this feature isn’t supported because custom workouts need to be managed and launched directly through the main Zwift app. That said, we really appreciate your feedback and the request, it’s exactly the kind of input that helps us improve the experience for everyone.
