I think we have discussed this before, but I like the idea, and maybe it can be used to create higher quality races.
You have to pay drops to enter and the drops (or whatever) is given as prize money. It will add to the gameification. Higher quality races have higher entry fee and higher prizes.
Drops must be used for more than bikes and wheels (I have more than enough) for them to be relevant.
Since there are less riders at the top and bottom categories, we need to limit the number of races where they can enter and make them “special”. Using drops could maybe work IDN.
If e.g. the Zwift Lap It Up races costed a substential amount of drops to enter, I would plan for it and make it important. Now, I can enter one every day if I want, because it doesn’t matter that much. People would race less such races and the participantion would be better for each race.
Who should decide the entry fee I don’t know.
