Advice Needed: Missed Workout Dilemma

Hey folks,

I missed a workout this week and have five scheduled for next week. Should I make up for the missed one or skip it? Worried about overloading next week but don’t want to fall behind on my goals. Any tips?


Hey J! As someone who is a Training Peaks perfectionist, I would recommend listening to your body. I’ve learned that it’s ok to miss a workout because you can always schedule the type of work you were wanting to do later. For example, if I missed an SST on a Wednesday, and have other workouts Thursday-Monday, and a race planned Tuesday, I will move the SST up three or four days after my race. You won’t lose your fitness from one missed workout :slight_smile: Since you have a high training stress week coming up, I wouldn’t worry too much about it.
