Getting data to Intervals is automatic with a Strava account.

Is there any reason not to just use Strava?
I currently subscribe to both Strava and Intervals.
I think the same data goes from Zwift to Strava to Intervals with the Free accounts and accounts can be made private,if so desired.

I guess this is a good time to encourage ALL users of Intervals (and Strava) to give them some money so they can stay around.

It’s about getting planned workouts from Intervals to Zwift. Strava won’t help in this case.

I pay for intervals.icu. I don’t think folk should be forced to use Strava as an intermediary.

And, it would be good to have workouts going to Zwift from intervals.icu too…

Possibly a positive development… REACH NEW FITNESS HEIGHTS WITH NEW FEATURES LANDING THIS SEASON ON ZWIFT | Zwift Newsroom

Functionally, this new API will behave much like existing third-party connections on Zwift. Once the API Connection is set up and approved, workouts built outside of Zwift will pull directly into the Zwift platform and show in the Custom Workouts folder. The training API will launch later this spring with a few launch partners. Other providers will be able to sign up for this open-API later in the summer.

It supposes the intervals.icu guy is interested in doing the implementation work from his side, but it does sound like the door should soon be open.

Even if he isn’t, maybe someone else might write something to pull workouts from intervals.icu and push them to Zwift.

intervals.icu has its own API that can be used to access workouts, convert them to Zwift format etc.

Given the pace of development at Zwift, and considering all of its features and priorities, it makes a lot of sense to make an open API and let the partners decide how important it is to them. The gear change indicator on the screen is a similar example. Just open it up and say hey if you want your customers to have this better experience, go for it.

This would be very convenient indeed ! Structured workouts in intervals.icu are very easy to create, and being able to import them in Zwift (like it’s possible with TrainingPeaks) would be delightful .
