documents/zwift/workouts/userid
I wonder if the workout file is valid ZWO, parses as XML, etc. What’s in it?
Hi Paul,
A workout issued by a third party, sent by email and downloaded into userid file.
Thanks,
Chris
There are a few ways you could check it, such as processing it through an XML validator, or uploading it to a ZWO workout converter to change it into another format as a way of knowing that it’s valid. You could also try importing into TrainingPeaks and see if it syncs from there to Zwift.
I think you would need to convert it from ZWO to FIT before doing that.
There are a lot of XML validators out there. Here’s an example:
Thanks Paul, It’s all getting a bit complicated for my IT ability’s! I have had a problem with Windows 11 after update resulting in a total reinstall and losing all files etc. Reinstalled Zwift and the Documents/Zwift/workouts/userid. All workout history is located in user ID file. Over the years I have imported custom workouts without problems ? Best Chris
Another thing you could try is creating a custom workout within Zwift, just to test it. Then look for that workout in Documents\Zwift\Workouts
. This would clarify whether you are putting your imported workout in the right location.
ok thanks
Yes that works Ok ?
If that other custom workout you got via email gets saved in that same folder and doesn’t show up, I wonder if it’s valid in terms of the file name and contents. Hard to guess without seeing it. I assume you already restarted the app.
Ok Paul the custom workout from 3rd party is downloaded from email and then pasted to userid file. I’ve noticed that the Zwift folder is located in Desktop ? Maybe I need to clear that from Desktop ?
The Zwift folder that contains the workouts should be Documents\Zwift\Workouts
It is not unusual for the app to be unhappy about any alteration of its intended installation locations.
