I’ve read some similar issues but has anyone having this problem.
Zwift starts up loads, all connections made and the Avatar sits there waiting and, that’s when the game appears to close and Zwift displays the Tour de Zwift page.
However I can still hear the sounds of the game screen.
I click on cross at the top left of the Zwift advert and refresh Zwift to reload but only the advert comes back. Refreshed again sometimes game reloads.
Do you have a paid subscription? If not, that would explain no avatar movement when you see Watts on the HUD. Check here: https://www.zwift.com/billing/membership
Are you running the game on Windows and if so did you install Microsoft’s latest updates? If so you may need to revert those changes as discussed over here:
I appreciate that there are conflicts between software but as a user ,and paying quite a lot in subscription ,why is it left to me to sort the problem. I would like to see Zwift or this forum provide a clearer explanation. It’s difficult going through each post to understand what is required to fix it.
I have had subscription for many years and it has always been my biggest fear starting up Zwift. The amount of times it has crashed during workouts is too many to mention.
I mean, you have to have something weird with your machine. I don’t know what could possibly be causing that. I run Zwift on a variety of platforms (except Apple) since 2018 and I don’t think I’ve ever had a crash like you’ve described. The only crash I recall was when using a laptop and it wasn’t plugged in and went dead.
Is there any chance your annual subscription may have run out and Zwift were unable to take another payment? I’m certainly no payment expert but you have been a paid up member for many years - any chance a card you used is no longer valid (past expiry date?)
Paul has provided a link above to membership/billing above. When you looked what is the status of your membership?
The symptoms you describe in your first post sound very much like an expired membership.
Welcome to the Forums! I am Nelson from Zwift Support.
I appreciate the detailed description of this inquiry. I would appreciate it if you could confirm that your graphics drivers are up to date. We prepared this article with the steps if needed.
If your graphic driver is updated and Zwift still crashes, please send us your crash logs via email for a proper review. We will be there for you.
If you share more details about your equipment you might get more useful suggestions. An easy way to do that is upload a log file to trainerdx.com post screenshots here, or hit the Share button on trainerdx and post the last part of the URL for your log analysis. Or you can go through support if you prefer.
Thanks for the help and suggestions. I will try and do as asked. Although may have to google first how to.
But as I said finally got it connected after about an hour and had a really good session. The Wahoo Kickr with Zwift Cog was very responsive and instantaneous gear change. Also the way the avatar keeps moving when you briefly stop pedalling is satisfying to watch. Feels very realistic to be on the road. Looking forward to more riding.
