I just purchased a RunPod. It is connected to the Zwift app on my iPhone, and the device is attached to my shoe.
I assumed that the device would continuously track steps during the day, but I’m not seeing that information anywhere. Is it possible to use the RunPod as an always-on step counter?
I’ve never used any Zwift devices or exercise equipment. I’m new to the Zwift ecosystem!
I’m afraid the run pod is not a step counter no.
It’s a speed and cadence source only.
Well bummer. I don’t know what gave me the impression that it was capable of counting steps. Thank you Stuart for the clarification.
Anyone interested in an almost brand new RunPod?!?
I think with the rise of today’s modern smart watches the good old fashioned pedometer is a thing of the past.
That is definitely true for the majority of use cases. A smartwatch will usually do the job. I recently started using a treadmill beneath my desk and found that my watch does not count the steps since my arms are basically still. I think that only a belt or shoe pedometer will do the trick. I just did some research and found LaceClips. I’m going to give them a try.
