I finally got my Tacx Neo 2T set up with my Zwift ride, but I’ve run into one major issue. Even after installing the longest foot extension, the bike still sits slightly on the trainer. It looks like it needs about another inch of clearance to keep the frame from touching.
Do you know if Zwift (or Tacx) plans to offer a larger foot extension to resolve this?
I don’t know a ton about this issue but I know that the RIDE needs a larger foot when you are using it with Tacx trainers. I’d recommend reaching out to Zwift support about this (they may be able to send you a different foot).
I have all 3 extensions that came with the zwift. Even the longest one the ride slightly touches the outside left part of the trainer. It needs about another 1/2 to inch to clear it. I’m sure it will still ride fine but I’m a little nervous during major sprints it might damage the trainer.
I noticed the same with my brand new Tacx Neo 2T & Zwift Ride setup. However, when I checked the gap between the left chain stay and the Neo I was able to push a slice of paper between them. They are very close, but not touching and as the rear fork is sturdy and firmly fixed to the hub, I don’t think it will cause any issues.
I just fitted the largest riser block (arrived from Zwift foc today) and yet the left chain stay still rested on my Tacx Neo 2T. I’ve put a book underneath under the mat I use. It’s still suboptimal, a few more mm on the riser block would have made a huge difference.
Hoping Zwift release one shortly as it was a bit disappointing to fit it and realise it hadn’t solved the problem.
I just received my frame and have the same issue (largest riser but left chain stay resting on the trainer). Contacted support explaining the situation and they decided to send me a new frame. I’d be very surprised if this makes any difference, unless they’ve updated the design, or the manufacturing tolerances are so slack I might get lucky and receive one that does not foul!
So, I got the largest riser also and it still touched the trainer, so I bought a new foot, that holds two tennis balls. Now it works perfectly, tennis balls were included.
I bought it from Amazon: MCNULGUR One Stabilizer Rocker Foot with Two Tennis Ball for Zwift Ride Front Leg
I had forgotten that I had added a washer behind the shaft sleeve (as recommended by Tacx if your derailleur cage touched the trainer body). I’ve now removed it and the frame sits slightly closer to the trainer’s drive-side. However, in my instance, this isn’t enough to stop the left chain stay from resting on the trainer. Although, I thought I’d mention it here as it may be just enough for others suffering this issue.
