Zwift Racing Score - Next Phase! [September 2024]

@S_A_ccc look at my race today here ZwiftPower - Login they can stop kicking me now.

yeah i’m not winning on that course either. but how many times are you gonna ride up that stupid ass climb again though, realistically? i probably do a race with a 20 min climb in it once every 2 years lol

I did 3 races. Started at 617.
On the instant results I went to 626, then 579, then 634.
Using 617 as the initial value for each race that is +9, - 38, +17.
After the recalculation my score went 617, 626, 588, 605. As a running total that is +9, - 38, +17.

Lol. You think that’s my first race against A+? I’ve mixed it up plenty in Tour de Zwift and Tour of Watopia. Along with Ladder races.
Point being, if I want to, I’ll race against A+. But not be forced to by a flawed system.
And also…are you on the team who developed ZRS? You’re pretty defensive on this thread…

not at all, CE did me a whole lot of favours. I am, after all, the current rank 1 CE B racer in the world

Question. I remember reading somewhere that the cats were static from the reset on at Zwift events.

But the crit city and the ZRaces happening today are using different cat boundries.
Can anyone confirm what the official cats are and if we are keeping them or that they get changed every week. I am keeping track of everyones ZRS for my club and knowing which cat to use is kinda handy.

<12wkg and <1000w 15-second power?

My numbers are about the same. I’m not a sprinter. I’m a poorly aerobically conditioned all-rounder and have learned to embrace that fact.

In case you were all wondering. My score just decayed to a perfect 150.00 (from a 150.14). So on a HerD Beginner Race, where CatE ends at 150, and D begins, it seems I can only still join the Cat D. So it seems it seems each downgrade really begins at .99

I think they rounded the numbers, mine was 469.76 and is now 470. The example I posted above is now 416 instead of 416.16

Another bad thing with this ZRS is that people clearly overdoing wont get DSQ anymore on ZP since there is no more limit on w/kg.

Just did a cat 3 race where the #1 and #2 went off from the start and did 4.1 w/kg for the whole race while the rest, who were minuts behind them, topped off at 3.1 and lower.

That’s an option that wasn’t applied in ZHQ events under CE so it hasn’t changed with ZRS. Zwift HQ events just let people get upgraded and results stand.

What if they got rid of pen enforcement, but if you race an event in a cat that your ZRS doesn’t fall within, you’re DQ’d automatically? At least until Zwift can figure out how to assign pens at time of race start.

Maybe they are emulating Tadej in the UCI world road race, starting your breakaway with anything up to 100km to go is the new winning race strategy! Now in Zwift you get to experience how the entire pro peloton feels!

You sure about that?

I will have to look into it but I am pretty sure I have won some races and ZRaces on ZP where I didnt finished first on Zwift

Nobody is getting removed from zwiftpower results for ZHQ races, but not everybody is on zwiftpower to start with

Yes, but feel free to point to an event and we can talk about the details

The thing about WKG is it uses the ZwiftPower category limits, so let’s say you are in C. You do 3.3W/kg 20 min in an event and get the WKG DQ. But due to the vagaries of CE you might be able to do 3.5W/kg 20 min without becoming B based on zFTP. So you get a DQ but the next race you enter you are still C and it happens again. You could be in no-mans land indefinitely getting DQ but being allowed back into the same category. That’s a reason why it doesn’t make any sense to apply that DQ to a CE event, and ZHQ doesn’t do it. But I can tell you as an event operator it is easy to accidentally let that happen, and there are event operators who don’t know these things, so it does happen in community events.

let’s not be too hasty

The days of “you need to check Zwiftpower to see the real winner” have been long gone.

Nowadays you’re just deluding yourself if you “won” on Zwiftpower. More often than not it simply means the people who beat you aren’t registered on ZP. Not that they were DQed for exceeding any limits.

I think you’re all right. Guess I am mistaken it for the no HRM dsq.

It was late last night after the 00.10am race.

Still weird though that you can do Pogi powers but as long as you stay in the cat you wont get a dsq.

Ps and even more sad is that both winners are still in our cat and can ruin a few more races with their 4.1w/kg over the whole race while the rest was at 3.1.

Even if you move to a higher category, no DQ for that, and if you move up but already signed up for a future event in the lower category, you can still do it (for now). That is what Nick was talking about here:
