Zwift Race scoring is broken

There seems to be a bug that can cause decay to reset. Hard to tell what the cause is.

I wonder if you had a previous PB age out of the 90 day window, which could have triggered the seed score to recalculate.

It’s doubtful.
I broke a couple of ribs in February.
Before that I was mainly doing the Build Me Up plan, and made it to week 4 or 5.
I was tracking ZRS even though I don’t race very much. I did get a few bumps from some Zwift events after my injury

A ride does not need to be a personal best to set your score higher. It just has to be above a certain range.

For example, your five minute power would not need to exceed your April ride, only be above 3.00 w/kg. Zwift has never stated exact measures for statistical analysis.

ZRS jumped 29 points, and no arrow indicating an increase.
That in itself seems odd.
And then to be the exact same ZRS that it was in early April.
Another oddity.

It’s been mentioned before, but I’ll mention it again, ZRS changes above pen thresholds are not excluding all racers from further Tiny Races within a quartet.

As a reminder, in case this is the cause for the problem, Tiny Races use the MAX 30 day ZRS (like at least ZwiftHQ Crit Club races) rather than realtime ZRS.

I regularly see racers exceed the pen threshold in races 1/2/3 in pens D/E before finally being excluded for race 4.

But other times, a racer will exceed the threshold in for instance race 1 and I then see the racer in the results for the next pen up in race 2.

@Eric-Schlange-ZI the racer who won all four races in pen E on 30th May in zone 2, Darren Lange, appears to have jumped from 230 to 263 after race 1. By race 4, he appears to be 306, according to the ZRS plugin for zwiftpower.

Not only are such racers not getting the pen promotion they should get mid series, but by not promoting them immediately after a race where they exceed the pen threshold, it then affects the ZRS increases allocated to others in the pen after each race and so could prevent them getting a pen promotion they should also get.

This general issue could affect other races, but I rarely do other ZRS events besides Tiny Races.

FYI, we’re looking into this…

I’m seeing the same. He should have been able to race race 1 but not 2-4.

I’m wondering if something is up with the max 30 categorisation and have asked the team to look. Might be a few days.

Interesting. I thought if you sign up for all four events before the first one, you would still be able to go to the other events, even if your score went up.

It is meant to prevent you from entering a category you should not be in, even if you have already signed up for the event.

This is the first time I’ve seen this not work as designed.

I have not seen it allow a rider to remain signed up and enter a pen they’re not qualified for, but I have seen racing score increases take nearly half an hour to be reflected in the list of available pens.

That might be a logical conclusion.

Another example of someone exceeding the 350 pen threshold in Tiny Races D earlier in race 3 (moving to 354), but allowed in D race 4.
