I have an elite turbo trainer that transmits power to zwift and my garmin. Whenever I try to enter a race with hardware requirements it says " power meter required" even though it us cinnected already and it measures power!
Do I need a differen’t power meter (which I don’t have), or what is the problem here? I think the power meter hardaware requirement is broken…
If your trainer uses the Misuro B+ sensor, that is not considered a real power meter. There are many trainers (especially the “smart” spin bikes) that broadcast power but don’t have a reasonably accurate way of measuring power, so the number it transmits is essentially rubbish.
So the misuro B+ sensor is rubbish? Because for me it’s just as acurate as any power meter…
Yes, and sorry but it isn’t.
The Misuro B+ doesn’t measure power at all and just estimates it based on various factors. It can often be way off, and isn’t comparable to a proper power meter. It might be that you’ve been lucky and for you it’s relatively accurate, but if so then you’re in the minority.
If you have a power meter you could use that as your power source and get access to more races
Well ok then how to pair misuro b+? Lol man… I can’t use another power meter since it is on a differen’t bike. Yes I could try to put that bike on my trainer, but it’s 12 speed and an xd mtb cassette will not fit on shimano 11 speed hub🤦🏼♂️
I might not even be able to pair ant+ to zwift, I don’t have a dongle right now either
Sounds like you’ll need to choose races without hardware enforcement unless you want to replace the trainer or get another power meter. Most community events don’t require it.
The last power meter I bought was a US$230 4iiii left crank arm type, which is about as cheap as they get (on ebay). It is possible to pair the power meter for power/cadence and pair the trainer for resistance.
