UPDATE October 19
We wanted to thank everyone who took time to send in tvOS crash logs. These will help us see when and why the operating system closd the app. We have gathered enough now that y’alls can stop sending in new ones.
A common thread from the people who sent in logs are that AppleTV HD (4th generation with Siri remote) running tvOS 16.0.0 are experiencing crashes. Scanning through this forum post - other versions of ATV hardware seem less prone to this issue.
So we’d like to ask from those who are crashing:
- Do you have the 4th Gen AppleTV HD, or a different model?
- Is that ATV running tvOS 16.0.0 (latest public version) or an older version?
- Lastly - if you are NOT crashing and have that 4th Gen ATV HD - which version of tvOS are you running?
