Zwift Cog Install Issue with Kickr Core

I’ve followed the instructions and I cannot get the Zwift Cog installed on my Kickr Core.

The Cog slides onto the axle (though it is hard to do so and requires some force to get it to), but it won’t seat all the way into the trainer.

Only about half of the pawls will seat which is obviously not right. Mechanically I cannot figure out what is preventing it from going all the way in.

As a sanity check I even tried installing it without the spacer just to make sure the spacer wasn’t interfering with the installation and it still gets stuck at the same place.

See the attached photo. This is as far as I can get the Zwift Cog installed on the axle.

You can just take the cog apart and put the pieces on the freehub one by one. Each piece has a larger and a bunch of smaller slots to align it on the freehub. Maybe removing the plastic piece that keeps them together for installation caused them to turn a bit so the slots are not aligned anymore.

Hi Michael, you should be able to get the pawls of the freehub to flick down and seat into the Core by rotating the cog backwards. If this isn’t working, then you can use a screwdriver (or similar) to reach between the Cog and pulley wheel to gently press them down.

Thanks! I figured this out last night and got it to work, but this is 100% the correct answer.

Awesome. There is also the trick of using a ziptie to temporarily ‘squeeze’ the pawls in, leave a ziptie ‘tail’, slide on freehub, wiggle the freehub, you can wiggle too if you’d like to, gently remove ziptie by ‘tail’ keeping freehub in place, pawls will spring into place, spin freehub and enjoy asmr

I’m glad it worked out. Ride on.
