I just received my kicker core with zwift cog, and two bad surprises followed: one, it does not work, the app does recognize the clicker, but no shifting happens. And two, it was nowhere clear that the cog only works within the Zwift app. Please help me to make it work, and give me a reason not to throw it away if I do not want to use Zwift.
Solved no. 1, it needed the Zwift app, not the companion app (which was nowhere clear). But still I do not want to use zwift every time I train, it takes control of the kicker so i can’t even manipulate the resistence. I’ll have to take the cog out and throw it away unless anyone convinces me that it is worth keeping. This is really frustrating and being locked in to zwift to use the cog really getting on my nerves. I makes me want to use zwift even less.
And, since we are at it, you Spanish documentation is useless.
You don’t need Zwift to control a Core with the Cog. Just connect the trainer to the Wahoo App and use the various control modes in the app (Target Power [ERG] or Grade Simulation [for a level mode]) if you don’t want to use Zwift. Plus lots of other apps will work with ERG mode workouts and the Cog.
Shuji at Zwift HQ here. While our forum community is made up predominantly of English speakers, our official Support Site is quite comprehensive in and available in Spanish.
Additionally, we have a squad of native Spanish speakers on the Community Support team who are standing by to assist. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to them for anything Zwift related.
