Zwift Click: disable/remap Y button during workouts?

Hi, is there a way to disable or remap the Zwift Click Y button during workouts? During my TrainerRoad workouts in Zwift, I keep accidentally hitting the Y button and skipping the workout phase, and I can’t find any way to rewind/undo. (as a feature, I have never needed to skip a phase manually)

It would be great if there was a way to stop this happening. Thanks!

(Edit: using Zwift on Mac laptop with Wahoo Kickr, FYI)

No there is no way to do that, though you could choose to not pair the Click controls if you’re planning to remain in ERG mode the entire time.

There is a feature request relating to restarting an interval that you could comment on as well if you like the idea:

Thanks for the answer. I could unpair the controls for the workout in ERG mode, yes, but then how will I give out my overly generous Ride On Bombs to everyone that passes me  ?

For that you could use the Companion app and tap the white circle in the center…

Ooh, haven’t tried that before, will give it a go, many thanks!

Don’t you need to hold the Y button for a few seconds to skip the block? I know it’s not a perfect solution, and perhaps you’re busy watching something while doing your workouts, but if you let go of the button while the ‘skip workout’ circle is filling on the screen (or maybe it’s just that you don’t see the ‘Ride On’ circle filling up) then you won’t skip the block.

Yes, that’s right, but you also need to hold the Z button for the Ride On bomb, and in my dilapidated, exhausted state, with fogged up glasses, it does happen that I accidentally hold the Y button instead and don’t have the wherewithal to realise until too late.

Which reminds me, you know what they should do? A tiny little nubbin on the Z and A buttons so that you can feel which buttons you are on by touch, like the F and J keys on a keyboard or the 5 on a number pad.

I definitely like this idea!! @shooj can you pass this along to the ‘powers that be’ for the next Click iteration?

I wonder if you.could put a little tiny drop of epoxy or something similar that will dry hard on the buttons to replicate this… just be very careful and maybe test it on a piece of scrap cardboard or wood first.

Thanks! Very simple to implement, big gain for accessibility.

Good idea, or a little raised washer around the Y button - will look into it…

Just did a training ride and can confirm the PSKN ™ solution works like a charm; copious distribution of Ride Ons and not a single accidental Skip Interval.

Zwift, you should definitely add some texture to differentiate the buttons on both click controller in your next version. Just make some little holes in your plastic injection molds - done.

Hey!! I have the exact same problem! Where did you find that… “thing”?? I want one!

it’s just the lock nut from a tyre valve :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

And it is still working perfectly, not a single erroneous press!
