World won't load after pairing sensors

After I pair my sensors and click to begin the run, the world won’t load and I get the spinning pinwheel of death. The zwift becomes responsive.

I have only gotten the world to load once and competed one run.

Strangely, swift cycling works fine.

I’m running zwift on a Macbook Air.

Any insights out there?

I’m new to Zwift too, just running, the worlds won’t load, just freezes, sometimes app freezes even before I hit the “run” button. Zwift support no help, just “exit app and retry”

Can you guys post a rundown of your Zwift set, the more details the better.

I’ve got the zwiftpod and freezing issue is the same regardless of my phone 8+, most recent OS, and on my iPad as well. Treadmill location has good WiFi access, Watopia load will freeze too, but has higher success rate, can load watopia 2 out of 10x , but Yorkshire loaded only 1x after about 30 tries. Thanks for any guidance, I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app multiple times on both devices. Thanks for any suggestions!!!

What is your internet speed?

Are you using 2.4GHz or 5GHz?

What is you iOS version?

What is the Zwift version that you are running?

Is the ZwiftPod firmware up to date.

What happens if you don’t pair the run pod and select Just Watch?

If this works you can click on Menu and go to the Pairing Screening and connect the ZwiftPod and see if that works also.

Can you do a speed test to a server in central California and post the results.

Just to get right back to you on the easy stuff:

  • Zwift version is 1.0.4389,01
  • Just Watch loads and runs fine but if I try to get into run mode from Just Watch Zwift, freezes once I pair the RunPod
  • My iOS is macOS Mojave 10.14.3

Just looking at your speed tests I would say that could be the issue, that speed is very slow.

Let’s try another test of internet speed, use this site and post a screenshot of the results (leave it as the default server for now): https://www.speedtest.net/

Thanks for your help thus far. Does this tell you more?

Looks like you have an issue with your internet, the download speed should be faster than the upload speed. That ping time is also really high.

Try restarting your modem and/or router and after they are fully boated up do another speed test.

roger that, Paul.

Paul, thanks for help, for simplicity, just reporting on iPad, it’s an iPad Pro OS 13.3,

I have two signals, 2.4 and 5gz, either one has freeze issue. Sharing image of speed test below.

“Just watch” generally works, but when I try to select a run after that, like NYC or Yorkshire, I get the same freeze as if I would have if I went directly to selecting a run

I’ve reinstalled Zwift several times so I assume I have the most recent version, for the pod, is there something I need to update on that? Hasn’t really crossed my mind because it’s the app that freezes, that’s we’re I get cut off every time. Thanks for any ideas!!

Here is a support article on updating the ZwiftPod: Updating Your Zwift RunPod's Firmware

I have seen others report the same issue, but after updating the firmware it was resolved.
