Hi guys ive been trying to upload workouts for about 2 hours now, working with chatgpt trying to understand why its not working as planned. I dont want to make the workouts in the zwift editor, just want to replace or ad files. The system everytime i boot up is like ignoring changes. chat gpt says its taking data from the cload and keep overriding it back onto the files. Its so combersome. been messing with that workout.files as well. but everyting just gets overridden back after reboot.
does anyone have some suggestions here. cant i just decouple the cloud stuff and run some local workouts in some way?
The cloud sync is the culprit, Zwift stores custom workouts server-side and pushes them back down on launch, which is why your local edits keep getting overwritten. Put your custom .zwo files in the Documents/Zwift/Workouts/[yourID] folder, not the install directory, that’s the one it actually reads and syncs. They should then appear as custom workouts. Local-only decoupling isn’t really supported, sadly. The .zwo format is easy to hand-write though.
I’m not sure which platform Lennart is using, but that directory is the one for macOS. On Windows, it has moved to %LocalAppData\Zwift\Workouts\[yourID]
