Windows 10 freeze on Surface Pro 4/Intel integrated GPU [February 2026]

Maybe @Steve_Cl can offer you some tips. I do not have one of those laptops so I haven’t gone through the process myself. He described his experience in this comment but maybe he can provide more details that would help you.

No sorry this hasn’t worked for me. Still freezes a few seconds getting into a ‘world’ screen, whether riding or watching. Granted using just INTEL graphics. Running W10, the last update was KB5072653 (24/11/2025) so none of the latest KB updates apply!!

You need to install the graphics driver referenced below:

Hello folks,

We’re continuing to investigate this issue at Zwift HQ, but have heard enough good news from affected Zwifters after installing driver version 31.0.101.2115 (as advised by @Paul_Southworth ) that I’ve marked the driver update as the solution for now. This is mainly to make the temporary solution as easy to find as possible for affected Zwifters as we continue to work on a more sustainable resolution.

cant install that driver update your suggesting as when I do, get the error message “unable to install, driver locked by manufacture”

See the other comments in this topic for installation tips. You will need to install it from the zip file.

I had the same error message (unable to install; locked by manufacturer) but I did try to download from the zip file, not the .exe

So far I haven’t been able to install the drivers, and reinstalling the app, disabling screen shots, and switching to the lowest possible resolution has not worked.

Assuming your system has a 6th gen Intel CPU and integrated graphics, that driver is the only solution I’m aware of, so if you can’t install it, you would need to find something else to run the game on until/unless a better fix is found. Other commenters have said they needed to delete the existing driver before installing, as mentioned a few times above.
