Will I lose XPs if I leave an event before completing the time or distance?

I am pressed for time this week. Too many medical and other personal appointments and travel. I am looking at trying to stack XP Express events and Zwift Racing Level Up Stage 5 events. I am thinking I may have time windows where I can ride either this week’s XP Express event or Level Up Stage 5 event to completion and then ride the other partially. If I leave such an event, do I lose the XPs (ride or bonus) because I did not complete the event?

Any XP you earn during a ride, is yours. XP rides are by distance. So if you only complete half the distance, that’s all you will receive. Same as arches in a race. Complete half the arches, you get half the spins. There is no penalty for leaving early.

If you were doing, route of the week. You would only receive, the km bonus. But you won’t get the route bonus, unless you finish the route.

Anything you earn, before leaving the ride. Is yours to keep

You don’t lose XP if you leave an event early.

You would only lose “potential XP” if there is a completion award for completing the event.

If your RotW was only short and you completed that in the XP event, got the RotW banner and then quit, I’m pretty sure you keep the RotW bonus.

This is definitely the case. You do not lose anything you have already been awarded.

Thanks to everyone for your answers. I asked this question of Gemini (AI) through Google Chrome. It got the answer partially right - if I don’t cross the finish line/banner, I don’t get any completion bonus. But, the “answer” also suggested I would lose any bonus XPs if I left an event early. Two thoughts: 1) AI makes mistakes and I wish I had captured a screenshot. 2) I worked in tech for a semiconductor company that was and is still rushing to support AI. I’m so glad I retired early in the madness. RIDE ON!
