Today 5/19/26 there was an issue where the trainer resistance was fluctuating and the power (watts) did not match reality, not even close. ERG did not work while in workout mode and disabling ERG also didn’t allow me to control resistance. It wasn’t a trainer issue because my wife was having the same problem on a separate trainer at the same time. Both trainers are wahoo kickr’s. At times it would be no resistance at all no matter which gear I went in to (with erg off), and then it would switch to very high resistance but show power output at a very low level (sub 100 watts). Anybody else experience this?
I don’t know what the fluctuating resistance was about, but what happened after you disabled ERG mode sounds like it might be this:
ERG didn’t affect the behavior at all. It behaved the same regardless. Never had this happen before. There was no sensible correlation between perceived effort and displayed power. For around 30 mins it showed power bouncing between 130 - 170 but resistance was nearly 0, then it changed and resistance was very high (felt like 250+ watts) and it reported less than 100 watts.
If you’re running the game on anything other than Apple TV, you could upload a log file to trainerdx.com to check if there are any problems with connectivity to the trainer. That’s always a good first step. If you hit the share button on the log report, you can post it here if you want help reviewing it (you may need to mangle the URL a little to get the forum to accept it).
Which model of Kickr do you have and what are you running the game on?
