Why is zwift so needy, CPU/GPU-wise?

Just loaded Zwift,app on my 2017 MacBook Air (had to type in the password, since the recent update doesn’t store credentials or allow copy and paste) and my fans are already at full speed with almost as much noise as a magnetic trainer. Literally doing nothing in Zwift (I’m typing this message).

And it will be like this for the duration of my session…

Not used many apps that got worse from one week to the next. I’d revert to the prior version if I could find the installer.

also seeing a lot of sensor dropouts: that cadence line should be a lot smoother.

I using the macOS app to connect to the sensors, from right in front of the wheel. Seems like a few bugs were retained in this release.
