Where my avatar starts each ride?

I want to begin each ride at the start of the island - start of lap counter. How do I do this?

Finish in that location is my experience. The only time I didn’t start there was a time I previously finished in the middle of the climb and THAT was were i started the next time

Every single time I’ve ridden, I start .3 miles from the Start/Finish line. I just assumed it gives us a short warm-up. It doesn’t matter where I’ve finished previously. So anytime I finish at the line I have multiples of 3 miles plus the additional .3 Is my experience the norm or do others have Peter’s?
