When choosing a route a part of the wattopia or NY map is black

When choosing a route a part of the wattopia or NY map is black.; It’s the central part. Not really handy while choosing a route. Is there a way to solve this issue?

What device are you using for Zwift and what are the specs?

when choosing a route in watopia the central part of the map is black. Only the lines of the roads are visible if the route passes them. The sides of the map are visible. I don’t have the same issue with other world. Only in Watopia…

AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series was released in 2012/2013 and that maybe your main issue.

And the motherboard is almost as old.

Are you all using an mechanical drive?

Any way to solve it? Videocard works fine in full resolution anywere else in the game. Even when riding and choosing in other worlds.

You could upgrade to a new computer since that one seems about 10 years old at least.

no I will not buy a new PC for this. This PC was bought high end and was almost not used and as I said the card works fine everywhere else. Also outside zwift. Most recent games I can play on this PC…
Any other suggestions? Like checking if the drivers are compatible 100% or so. Just buy a new PC is not an option

Well, the PC is very old and Zwift takes a lot of CPU and GPU power to run.

What is the exact model of the GPU in your PC? Does the GPU have 2GB of RAM?

And that is kind of irrelevant since it is very outdated now.

BTW, throwing good money and time at a PC this old to use for Zwift is not a good idea since you can purchase a AppleTV for under $200.

The mobo and CPU are absolutely fine for Zwift, in fact they’re just about the best value possible without going straight to 12th gen. To suggest it needs replacing is wrong, I build with 4th gen all the time.

The graphics card isn’t great for Zwift, primarily because Zwift uses OpenGL and AMD’s Windows drivers are very poor as OpenGL compared to Nvidia’s. This can be overcome with modern, powerful cards but that costs a lot of money at present. I would suggest swapping the card for a 1050 Ti or similar, given that the OP is driving a 1080p display.

I suppose it does use 2GBof RAM GPU when you are riding and as I said while riding it works fine at full resolution. While drawing a map of other worlds it doesn’t have that problem either. What’s the difference between watopia and the other worlds?

Sorry, but I would not throw good money at such an old PC.

Seeing as my posts have been deleted, I would like to politely point out that the PC in question is perfectly good for Zwift and as a platform 4th gen Intel has many years of good service left in it. This is not simply my opinion, it is based on the performance of over 60 PCs I have built on this platform specifically for running Zwift, as well as industry experts who test and work on PCs for a living. One such example is a LinusTechTips video from only days ago, where the i7-4770 CPU that the OP owns is heralded as an excellent performer even in modern AAA games.

I would absolutely keep the PC (albeit with a replacement graphics card which will provide a far superior experience and almost certainly resolve the graphical issue in question), and consider that suggesting it needs to be replaced to be wholly inaccurate and therefore very poor advice.

What is going on with all the censorship on the forums lately? Your posts were not violating any forum rules, you weren’t being rude, just pointing out facts. A difference of opinion is not grounds to be censored.
