What happened to Zwiftpower?

Don’t get me wrong, I lov Zwift. But Zwift does not provide a way to track results, give standings, and most importantly - does not provide standings for Tours.

The whole point of Tours is performance over time. In a series.

Today, Zwiftpower said it closed due to changes in your Privacy Policy.

Please do what you can to allow Zwiftpower to resume its great supplementation of Zwift.

You are peanut butter. They are jelly.

We need both.

It has to do with GDPR and there are a lot of sites dealing with it right now, not just Zwift.

Looks like it should be resolved in sometime next week.

I took "We regret to announce the closure of ZwiftPower due to the recent GDPR requiring changes to Zwifts underlying API.

New privacy controls are being implemented by Zwift and should be complete sometime next week (June 1st). " to mean it was kaput.

Is it a temporary close until some coding is done?

Really? Thanks Sherlock Holmes.

Or maybe Captain obvious is better.

I realise zwift means different things for different people, but for me it’s pretty much exclusively racing. Without zwiftpower the whole experience is much poorer. Of all the online services and sites I use, zwift is the only one who didn’t anticipate GDPR issues and deal with them in time. I really want to see this sorted!

I realize that the suspension of zwiftpower is due to the implementation of GDPR but I find the way zwift handled this very bad and that is being kind. As others stated, zwiftpower fills a need that should actually be something done by zwift, but that is another discussion. What really ticks me off is the fact that GDPR did not fall out of the sky overnight. Many, many sites did their homework to ensure that they could implement when the time came. Zwift is not so unique that they could not have done the same. Rocket science? I think not. Maybe it is time that zwift users start demanding the ability to track results etc. via zwift directly, as it should be.

Such a shame it’s still offline & what a load of bollocks about ‘our’ privacy settings. Opt in or opt out… the choice is simple! I think…

Experienced software developers realize, that what can seem like simple changes to the public, can turn out to be very complicated.
