Watts disappear 🫠

Hi- if anyone can please help me, I’m at a complete loss. When I go to do a workout, connect through my phone using the companion app, everything is fine…until About 5 minutes in, my watts stop reading completely. I’ve tried everything. Restarted everything, uninstalled the app, unplugged everything. Restarted my Apple TV. The only solution seems to for me to pair through Bluetooth, which means I can’t use the companion app. I don’t know what to do. Any help would be appreciated. I am also not sure if my watts are accurate. When I do a free ride it seems like they are awful low, but I feel as though I am pedaling through mud.

Which trainer are you using?

It is completely normal to pair via the Companion app using Bluetooth, so I’m not sure what’s going on there. Loads of Apple TV users do that.

Depending on exactly which trainer you’re using, you may have other pairing options that could help you avoid using the Companion app for pairing.

Hi Paul- I’m using the wahoo kicker. The problem with pairing via Bluetooth is that I can’t use my heart rate monitor. I’m also not confident that the watts are reading correctly. During the workout they sit just one watt under what it’s asking for every time, and when I do a free ride my watts seem to be considerably low for what I know I can put down. This problem just appeared out of nowhere, too.

Which model of Kickr do you have?

I have a KICKR V2, thank you so much for all your help and patience with me.

I assume this is a Kickr Core V2 (2025 model) not a Kickr V2 (2016 model) right?

To use Bluetooth pairing with a Kickr Core V2 you have two different options to work around the Apple TV connection limit:

  1. Use the Kickr Bridge feature to pair the HRM to the trainer.
  2. Use the Zwift Companion app as a bridge for pairing your devices via a phone or tablet.

Let me know what happens when you try one of those options.

Hi Paul-

I have the newest version of the KICKR, so 2025. I do use the companion app to bridge the gap- that’s the issue. When I do that in my workout, the watts start to jump all over the place and eventually say 0. I don’t have this issue when I connect without the companion app…though I suspect something is up and it’s not reading those watts correctly either.

What happens if you use Kickr Bridge instead of pairing via Companion?

Can you post a picture of your pairing screen as well?
