“What more can they say?” An ETA for the fix.
Agree, that would be helpful. Maybe a notification somewhere, to inform potential customers - rather than a reply in a subthread in a forum too.
The downside of course to making such a broad announcement is then [some] people will choose not to update their firmware just to keep their numbers up.
Throwing that out there as devil’s advocate.
What happens down the road then if someone is doing an eSports race and is using inflated numbers potentially? I assume, but am curious to know if Zwift can see the firmware versions of devices when they connect.
Point is, it’s a slippery slope either way; to tell your customers all long that their product that’s supposed to be accurate turns out not to be is typically disasterous.
Yup. Hence prior suggestion if possible, Zwift should make virtual shifting completely unusable from the server side unless the trainer firmware has been updated – and only of course after that firmware update is available.
Not sure if people would have the choice. The Kickr V6, and Move(not sure about the Core) are WiFi.They get automatic updates.
That’s true, and I don’t believe I saw any option to turn off automatic updates. I know mine has received the updates completely without any intervention. I am not certain whether it can be turned off, I’ll look into that.
I just finished up dual recording another race (I got destroyed again). Results are still good, day 2 after last factory spindown. I am uploading this one to YouTube, I think the issue might present after I climb legsnapper the third time, but I haven’t looked closely yet. Overall, the results are still good - the difference between the Kickr and Favero pedals is negligible (3 watts).
I checked your FIT File from Garmin
Can you disable this Wahoo Equipment…i think you had same Power Source recording.
I was worried I did something wrong with this one. In my Garmin profile, it is set to “Indoor”. It uses the Wahoo Trainer for the Trainer in this profile, but I manually connect my Favero Power Pedals, then do Free Ride. I then looked at how I can validate what the Garmin activity used for the power. In the Garmin activity, for the .fit file that I uploaded, I can see cycling dynamics that I otherwise wouldn’t see, so I thought it was ok. The power was almost too perfect, that’s what caused me wonder if I did something wrong. This is concerning to me, I don’t want to get this wrong. In my next effort, I will disable any synchronization of the trainer. Maybe I will simply use the outdoor profile, that way it is purely using the bike computer and Faveros.
To disable Wahoo…go to Sensors and just remove Enable. You will see X over that sensor and it will not be used.
Got it - thank you. I will do so.
Ok. I felt like the issue was coming back at the end of the last race. I guess I goofed up that last race’s dual recording, but I did another race tonight and this tells the story. Earlier in the thread, I characterized the issue as an overall performance boost - on the order of 10-15%. Well, that’s what we have. The dual recording is available. This does a wonderful job providing data that highlights the free watts. I will upload a YouTube video as well.
looks like Petr has uploaded a video 2 days ago down the grade
Yes, thanks for mentioning.
can you upload original Garmin Fit File and not Sauce 4 Strava as is missing all the data i mentioned yesterday ![]()
Apologies - I missed that. Yes, let me work on it.
you will learn all the tricks before Wahoo updates the firmware ![]()
I’ve done so - I went to Garmin Connect and exported the .fit from the recorded activity. This should be right.
it’s still same 2nd source file…you need to delete this in settings and upload new file.
I had accidentally marked it private - deleted the first data set sourced from sauce/strava, the one in there should be public and original garmin, with garmin only synced to Favero Duals and HR (for control).
