Wahoo Direct Connect Adapter

Is the Wahoo KICKR Direct Connect Kickr V5 ethernet adapter still not working with Zwift? or has anything changed?

It’s been working since the end of March.

Awsome, then I’ll order one!

Does it work with Kickr Core model and now also work with Windows?

Kickr Core doesn’t have the Direct Connect port. It works with Windows, yes.

Hi, I’m thinking of replacing my kickr core with a kickr v5. Will all v5 models support direct connect, or only certain models produced after a certain date?

They all support it.

Awsome! Would hate to order one and get some old produced thingy that didn’t :handshake:

How is Direct Connect working for you all? I no longer hand any dropouts (woohoo! ), but sometimes it is very slow to get going at the beginning of a workout. It connects, but gives me 0 watts in Zwift for a minute or so. My Garmin (connected via ANT+ shows my watts). Once last week, it didn’t work at all until I unplugged the Kickr the a moment.
Anyone else have this issue? I’m quite computer savy, I don’t believe that it is a network issue.

I’ve just received a Wahoo Direct Connect for my Kickr v5. Does it need to be on the same wi-fi network as my PC (game client)? I use Google Wifi access point so could connect the module to either the WAP or modem.

I’m assuming the WAP but I will need to buy an ethernet port unit to be able to have my PC and Kickr connected at the same time. I tried connecting the Kickr to the modem with PC to the WAP but don’t get the option in Zwift to use the connection BUT with the current issue I’m not sure if this is the bug or I’ve set it up incorrectly.

Thanks in advance.

Answering my own question … Yes the Kickr has to be connected to the WAP not just network.

Zero issues for me but I use Ethernet cable. Love it!

My Direct Connect has still dropouts.

Setup: Kickr Bike v2, Direct Connect adapter, dedicated Zwift PC, software and firmware on latest version, everything UTP cable connected.

My network and internet connection have no failures (continues pings have no drops).

Still sometime Zwift is dropping the Direct Connected Kickr Bike v2 power and cadence.
The only way to get it working again, is going into the pairing screen.

Anyone else having problems with Direct Connect?

Make sure port 36866 is open in your firewall.

I’m sure this form is so old. I may not get a reply, but I finally picked up a direct connect today after having so many Bluetooth dropouts in the last 30 days I have a dual band CenturyLink router and I’ve tried plugging the kicker directly into the router and directly into my PC the PC is a dedicated Zwift PC that lives in my garage and it’s only function is to Zwift. That being said when I plug in the Wahoo to either the router or the PC, it is not popping up on the network when I run the Wahoo app both on the two point 5G and the 5G network wireless the trainer is still not popping up. I’m hitting my head against the wall here

Here’s instructions for dircon: Using Direct Connect (DIRCON) with a KICKR trainer, BIKE, or RUN

Hope this helps.
