Vulcan assert error message

@shooj I’m still encountering the Vulcan Assertion error while Zwift is running, is there anything in which case I could assist with troubleshooting?

Is this the one where instead of Ride Ons, Zwift says Live Long and Prosper?

Okay, Zwift crashes when I don’t click on Retry inside this Assertion Error. This is unacceptable.

I spliced this out to start its own thread. Can you screenshot the error message(s) so we can see what you’re seeing?

Hi Shooj,

I’ll take a screenshot once the error pops up again. Will do a training tomorrow. The time span in which this is happening seems to be a bit random. Today, the issue occurred while I was already back in the main menu, training finished and game closed. I then went to the toilet and Zwift was still running. Once returned, Zwift was closed and the error Message was there.

Forgot to take a screenshot then, my bad.

I’m curious which GPU you have and the driver version. I haven’t seen that issue mentioned before.

Also curious if the error message referenced Vulcan or Vulkan since those are not the same thing

Hi Paul, it’s Vulcan, that was a typo. I did some further investigation and I’ve found some entry in the Microsoft Forums regarding Vulcan Assertion Error line 390. That’s related to Adobe Software being uninstalled prior to the error. I also got rid of the Adobe Suite lately and will try to investigate further. As I mostly run Zwift on my laptop this might be a coincidence here.

Good callout on Vulkan vs Vulcan. Zwift doesn’t use the Vulkan API, so that’s good to distinguish.

Thanks for digging into it from your end as well - please let us know what you find in your investigation, but it sounds like the error message is likely unrelated to Zwift.
