When I looked at the “on demand” ToW routes for week one, there were four routes, including this week’s Race Watopia route.

If you did a race on one of the routes for the current ToW stage, then you should have a look at this thread where some XP issues have been reported.
Well, Zwift did say you only get double XP once per route, so if they didn’t get double XP on the second lap of a route during an event that might be why.

I just did Race Watopia 18:10 BST and got double XP both laps. My partner did it yesterday and only got double XP the first lap

Maybe I shouldn’t mention this but I just completed B cat Stage 1 ride (ZwiftPower - Login) for the second time and received +40xp for each km.
I did the Stage 1 race on Monday then Stage 1 ride C on Tuesday, B on Wednesday, A on Thursday and the above mentioned B ride again today (Friday). I have received +40xp on each ride (although I can’t remember if I got +40 on the second lap of the race on Monday, in fact I can’t even remember if I got double xp on the first lap).
All rides were part of events, no solo rides.
I did cat C, short route, ToW group ride yesterday evening, got double XP, kept riding after the event ended and continued to get double XP. Entered the next ToW group ride in the B cat, standard route, and got double XP during that event as well.
GP Llama pointed this out in his recent video as well, the double XP is not working as intended… maybe the bug will get fixed, maybe not?

Anyone not happy about the time of the year for the TOW this year. It was always a way to breat the boredom after the Christmas holidays. In addition, we are still able to ride outdoors and with a short season want to take advantage of as much of that as we can. Who wants to be indoors when they can ride outside???

Are you confusing this with the Tour de Zwift (which usually starts in January)?
No. The Tour of Watopia usually started I think in the beginning of March. The Tour of Zwift started in January and was a good warm up for the TOW… Both good events to get one back into the groove of riding after the Holidays.
xp or drops?
Today I ride Figure 8 as a solo ride so I didn’t join to Tour of Watopia 2023 stage 1 event. Despite for that I had Tour of Watopia 2023 cap and mark that I have done stage 1. Is that normal that you can accomplished Tour of Watopia 2023 without join the events?.

Yes it’s part of the setup this year for the first time in ToW. It was previously used in the Tour of Makuri Islands and I guess they thought people liked it. You just have to do routes that are part of the tour.

Why is there no stage schedule on the Zwift website? I am sorry to say this, but you really have a talent for making things uncomfortable, complicated to use and hard to find the key information. I get the impression that you are not learning from your past mistakes to improve the user experience.
