Here is the reply I received yesterday from Zwift:
“This is Rowdy at Zwift HQ with tier 3 technical support. Currently, the experience you’re describing with your tail lights in Zwift is the designed effect for Zwifters with Play controllers or a Zwift Ride connected. When a device that is able to apply in-game braking is connected, your tail light will appear during daytime and will be slightly brighter than usual at night. Additionally, it will glow brighter when you apply the brakes during an activity. These visual effects are visible to you, but are not visible to other Zwifters nearby- others will only see your tail light during night rides.”
I had my doubts, so I went into the activities of friends to find THEIR photos where I am visible on meetup rides. Turns out my tail light is NOT visible in their pix, but it is in mine.
Don’t like the way this works but there it is.
