Tacx Power Loss

Hello,

I need some help.

During Zwift work outs in ERG mode I experience power/resistance drops regularly. Almost every 2-3 minutes. For example, when 220w is required it drops to 160-180w for 15-20 seconds.

Any idea what happens here? I tried to calibrate Zwift and Tacx but this did not solve the issue.

Does anyone have some advice?

Thanks

Which trainer do you have, what are you running the game on (detailed specs please!) and what method are you using to pair the trainer?

I have a Tacx Flux and running Zwift on my IPad.

OK nothing we can do about your Bluetooth hardware on an iPad. Without knowing which iPad you have I can’t make any suggestions about whether it’s adequate or not. If you go to Settings → About on the iPad it would tell you the model information and which version of iPadOS you are running.

On devices like iPads, you need to force quit the app after every use, and you may as well reboot the iPad since you’re running into problems, and reboot the trainer as well by unplugging it and plugging it back in. https://support.zwift.com/en_us/force-closing-zwift-rkI3Rp7yP

The first thing I would do after rebooting the iPad is run the Tacx app and do a test ride before launching Zwift to see if ERG mode is working as desired or not (using a “Power Workout”). If it’s not working well when you do that, then either you have a problem with the trainer or a problem with the iPad. If the Tacx app allows you to update the trainer firmware, do that. If it does not work properly you could also try running the Tacx app on another device to see if the behavior changes. If you can’t run an ERG mode workout in the Tacx app then you need to talk to Garmin support. If you can’t calibrate the trainer using the Tacx app, you need to talk to Garmin support.

thanks for the tips, will try to fix this tomorrow!
