Tacx Neo 2T - Resistance spikes when camera shifts

Hello,

For the past couple of weeks I have been noticing an issue where resistance will all of a sudden spike significantly for a few seconds - enough for it to hurt more than I would like.

In the past couple of uses of Zwift, I have noticed that when the camera shifts my resistance spikes and instead of uncomfortably pushing 2.5w/kg, I am forced to push 3.5w/kg. The camera shifts happen when there is a scenery transition, or someone is moving past me in the peloton and the camera moves (perhaps to avoid clipping?). I have noticed the camera movement happens quite often on steeper climbs when there is a few people around me.

I’ve noticed this issue in “Off the maap” stage 3 and a couple of the “Straight outta ‘25” events.

I just found out about the trainerdx website and uploaded my logs from the latest event I participated in. I had 27 bluetooth disconnects, I am unsure if the disconnects coincide with the times that my resistance increased, I will try to verify this.

It seems strange that when the camera changes these resistance spikes occur. I’m not sure how camera movement, trainer resistance, and trainer bluetooth disconnects could interact with each other. Perhaps someone has insight? I am happy to provide whatever information I can to resolve this issue.

  • Trainer: Tacx Neo 2T (Firmware 2.7.0) - Connected to Zwift via bluetooth

  • Game: version 1.103.0, Windows PC

  • Accessories: Zwift play

  • Settings: Virtual shifting enabled, Tacx road feel enabled, Trainer difficulty 50%

Thanks.

cant say ive noticed anything like that when riding, i also use the 2T and play controllers

I don’t have a pattern I can describe but the change in resistance is obvious with the neo 2t. It’s like I change a gear or two (I’m using virtual shifting) for some 10 seconds and then shift back again

I have 2 teammates that both are saying the same issue is happening.

Both started having this issue after getting the Zwift Ride.

One of them after he got Core 2 borrowed Neo2T to another one of my Teammates and that one had 0 issues with resistance in the 2 weeks now. The obky difference is he is using new Zwift Click v2.

My understanding is that the resistance changes are happening with the dropouts of Controllers (Plays, Click, Ride).

Garmin or Zwift could fix this so that the resistance would stay the same if there is a dropout.
