Could it be that the Mio signal is not strong enough and thus causing issues due to distance from the Apple TV unit?

What if you pair the Mio to the Apple TV instead of the cadence? Do the ride w/out cadence.

The mio is less than a foot away. The Apple TV unit is right on the table by my handlebars.

AAAH Yes indeed bluetooth connections could be a problem. You can actually use the Companion App to monitor your heart rate (for example) or another one of the connections to free it up for the ATV.
